About the Company/Team

Our team is developing a tool that leverages a Vision Language Model (VLM) to automatically process and integrate fragmented inputs from frontline workers, such as photos, videos, and voice notes. The goal is to generate comprehensive report drafts that facilitate downstream communication and collaboration between stakeholders in the construction industry, reducing the manual effort required for visual documentation.

About the Role

We are seeking a Construction Specialist who will serve as a vital link between our technical development team and real-world construction operations. This individual must have extensive hands-on experience working closely with frontline workers and possess a deep understanding of the daily workflows. The key responsibilities include offering insights into stakeholder interactions, identifying critical pain points in on-site processes, validating the practicality of our solution, and ensuring that the tool effectively addresses the real-world needs and challenges faced by frontline workers and project stakeholders.

We are aiming to participate in the DesignX competition with a well-rounded team that includes expertise in real estate (an MIT CRE student), business strategy (a Sloan MBA), and technical development (an MIT PhD). However, to strengthen our approach and gain deeper insights from the construction industry, we are looking to bring on a team member with construction experience. This addition would provide us with valuable on-the-ground knowledge about construction workflows, challenges, and stakeholder communication, which will be crucial in refining our solution to better address the pain points in real-world construction projects.
