CTO/CSO
GeisterBio
Co-FounderAbout the Company/Team
We are developing a fullstack 3D-bioprinter platform and our goal is to print a functional human heart in 10-15 years.
About the Role
This role is best described as a high-tech, science-first co-founder position requiring high-level technical abilities and founder mindset. We are looking for someone with strong expertise in one or more of the following fields: - Tissue engineering (e.g., scaffold design, ECM, hydrogel systems) - Stem cell biology (e.g., iPSCs, differentiation protocols, cardiomyocytes) - 3D bioprinting (e.g., multi-material printing, CAD modeling, printer customization) - Organoid or vascularization research - Computational modeling or FEA (bonus if applied to biological systems) Beyond technical depth, you need to be able to excel in an extremely uncertain, early - stage environment - not just as a scientist or engineer, but as a strategic thinker and builder. Great experimental design, creative problem-solving, and communication are key. We want you to own our vision together with us. You don't need startup experience, but you do need the drive, persistence, and curiosity to help start a biotech company from scratch - and the passion to translate science into real-world impact.
This is a high-risk co-founder postition for working on the world's first transplantable 3D-bioprinted human heart. The position is equity-only until funded, remote-compatible, however we would welcome it if you would be open to relocate to WinstonSalem, NC, as we have a partnership with WFIRM and Remdo, and will incorporate in the US soon. This is a role for someone who's willing to risk safety for significance - someone who doesn't just want to perform revolutionary science, but to redefine what can be done biologically.
